My feline superior

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Miss Margot and I are now in sync about keeping her washed and brushed; she’s agreed to stop pooping on herself, and I’ve agreed to use a much more pleasant and comfy brush.  As a result domestic harmony is much improved.  Now, if she would just stop using Jeff’s computer desk as a jungle gym [...]

Mornings with Eddie

I experience something like this with my cat Eddie almost every morning.

Miss Margot meets WALL-E

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Here’s the kitten reacting to WALL-E on my computer screen. When I originally posted this video to YouTube, I made it private to avoid copyright issues. Then I searched YouTube for WALL-E and found loads of others, so I figured what the heck and it’s now public. Which means you can actually watch it. She’s [...]

The first time I used Speaking Naturally

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I said, “Holy Shit!” when it actually wrote down what I was saying.  What it typed was Goalie shipped.  I promptly gave up on speech recognition. This is pretty funny, and you don’t have to understand computer programming for it to be funny.  Not what what. 1st of 2 parts on NCIS last night… it [...]

horrible news

Monday, April 27th, 2009

He ain’t dead, but Dr Filk is going to be a very dinged up puppy for the next little while. Quoting Lady Miss B – He was in an accident with an SUV – broken some ribs, his tibia, and his foot.  He’s in surgery now for his foot.  No head injury, sounds like.  That’s all [...]

Laundry and Battlestar

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Yesterday was  a walk in the neighbourhood in the glorious sunshine, two loads of laundry, sliced pork tortillas (OMG they were good) and more Battlestar Galactica.  Keith was here for the day again. He had been in a pretty rocky mood lately but he certainly was chipper when he left.

Veratect is reporting the first case of swine flu in BC

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

But the BCCDC is saying jack sh*t. There are definitely cases in Canada being reported by those who are recently returned from Mexico.

A really cool story from the dawn of space flight

Sunday and various

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

This essay covers some of the same ground I tried to cover in my homily “Good Atheist, Bad Atheist”. I’m not sure I would have sent the baby home with that mother, but oh well. An interesting article about geography and history. Ew.  I’d never touch my mouse if it looked like this. Interactive map [...]
