Sundry and various

Cat pee = perfume.  Now we haz prüf!

Only one burning cop car?  Torontonians are so low-key.  If the facebook posts of eastern pals are anything to go by, Toronto’s a farking mess right now – apparently they shut down the transit system, which is questionable tactics.

Bearsneezle! Watch for how loopy the bear is at the end of its sneezing fit.

Camille Paglia overgeneralizes her way into the newspapers again.  I can hardly disagree with her assessment of Lady Gaga though.

Rehearsal tonight with Orange You Glad.

Writing projects:  None at the moment, but I’m transcribing dreadfully earnest Victoria poetry for my mOm.

  1. Dreadfully earnest Victorian poetry. Good term for it. Dreadful, yes. Earnest – well, it WAS collected by your great-grandmother. Victorian – yes. The decade or so my grandmother wrote in that notebook was indeed in the reign of Victoria Regina. Poetry? Not on any contemporary criterion. Doggerel, perhaps?
Criticism of the CONTENT aside, I appreciate the work you are doing for the family history effort. Since we have practically nothing that she wrote out of her own head, we must be satisfied with what she chose to copy into her notebook, as our only door to access her mind. And while you do THAT, I am working on transcribing her father’s diary, which gives DIRECT access to HIS mind. I acknowledge that I kept the goodies to myself and passed on the drudgery to you, but here’s the INTERESTING part of the task: you never met your great-grandmother, but what could you say about her from consideration of what she chose to write in her notebook?

  2. Doing the right thing for God’s approval seems to have been pretty high on her list.
