A mathematical model does not a metabolism make. I can vouch that fungus is not the only operative to consider. I lived for some time with a basal temperature of 95ish. Darn, should have written a paper, apparently it is not common knowledge that a lot of metabolic activities are affected by core temperature. I did not keep a journal, I just lived it. I still have no idea why i had a low basal temp, the doc put me on thyroxine which I subsequently weaned myself off, and my core temp is now ‘normal’. It was during the early years of my intense pain from food, the second half of my 20s. Parasympathetic nervous system malfunction, or endocrine? My perception at the time was that various systems were glitching until I got my temp up daily.
