Banana bread is cooling
Damn, didn’t get it out of the oven in time to give some to Jeff on his way to work.
Almost all the books are unpacked. If I go like hell for the next forty minutes, maybe I can unpack the rest of them and turn this into an actual productive day instead of the fifth day of a long weekend!
The superstring theory balloon has just gone up
Not last weekend I was saying to my pOp that I expected confirmation of string theory in a real life situation imminently. Yee haw.
More domestic stuff
Today I unpacked, got replacement parts (like, all of it) for the clothesline, and thought myself fortunate and blessed.
And now, The Coldstream Guards play Thriller outside of Bucknem Pelles.
Everybody is trying to get into the act.
The morning so far… working on an atheist liturgy
Then I run across THIS GUY. Bastard’s trying to something similar!
Appropriate use of tech
Once upon a time Loki said he wanted a pet marguay
But this is what it would be like to live with a small wildcat. My fave pic is of the wildcat grooming the domestic cat. This isn’t a marguay, as far as I can tell, it’s likely a lesser spotted cat or ocilla, but there is a lot of variance. Best guess it’s from Brazil or south America.
the freak show is back
And in non freak show news, I cleaned up my house somewhat, with assistance, and fed Tom and Peggy, Paul and Keith, and Lady Miss Banjola, and then we sang and played for two whole hours and it went by like two minutes.
Carly graduamated
Dishes done, kitchen swept
(Jeff swept the kitchen); cd’s and dvd’s unpacked; more books unpacked; shower head completely installed; kitchen rugs washed and hanging to dry; Allegra admonished about leaving lights on; bills paid; mouse caught and released outdoors (thanks, whichever of the cats was responsible, but we currently suspect a Miss Margot /Gizmo tag team and while I am demonstrably capable of catching mice with my bare hands Jeff dealt with that too); phase adjusted sound system and new multimedia software admired; more clean laundry sorted and brought upstairs; more clothes sorted for going to Value Village; Allegra admonished about starting the dishwasher without turning the water on (you have to admit, it was cakebrained of me); Paul communicated with regarding Unca Dave going to Kelowna for further treatment; surprise money slapped into kid accounts; life is good, and slowly moving towards a fun evening of music and merriment and mastication with Tom and Peggy and possible others.
Hitler finds out Michael Jackson is dead
WARNING. This is in excruciatingly bad taste.
In domestic news…
waffles is served; composter is installed next to back deck; new shower/massager head 1/2way installed in upstairs bog; Honored Guests for barbecue (pork chomps, not them), hammock has been obtained and can be moved throughout the yard to chase the shade; Miss Margot is acting like her operation a week ago is not even a memory; Eddie has settled down; Gizmo is a cat among cats; and I feel finer than happy. And Sunday, episode 4 of TrueBlood season II; so I even have something to look forward to besides finally finishing Grieg which has been open and staring at me for three days straight now.
Honored Guests are coming!! must clean house!!! The house isn’t even too filthy, just disorganized (still) subsequent to the move.

My day so far
I slept on the couch last night. Couldn’t understand why on earth I was so tired the night before, but the next morning when I could navigate my way to the can in the dark by the pink light being emitted by my forearms, I realized that tooling around half the day with Mike with the top down gave me some serious sun.
So what did I do? Kopper and I ran away to Wreck Beach (or were conveyed there by shuttle buses, which magically arrived and departed without any waiting time) and I got more sun, but we had water. I bought one beer and consumed it in one foaming draught, since when he said “Ice cool beer” he meant it and in that sun it would warm at the speed of thermal radiation.
We got crispified lightly and then went to the Japanese restaurant at Main and Broadway (I am in raptures about the food, it was amazing, and exactly what my mouth was ready for) and then went to Commercial Drive and parted company in the concourse there….. Sigh. It was a fine old elephant flapping we had, and of course she’s in way better shape than me despite her heart scare a few years back, since she actually works out three times a week and eats properly. Oh, I forgot to mention she cooked me breakfast, cause she was just starting to cook it when Jeff dropped me off this morning.
