From the road trip

Lady Miss B, hubster ‘Seph and baby Bean are traversing the Black Hills of Dakota (I’d be stopping in Deadwood, but meh, that’s me).  Anyway the highway they are on is lined with ‘creepy’ pro life billboards, one of which was, “Your mother was Pro Life” at which point the entire family yells, “NO SHE WASN’T” which you have to admit is pretty funny and there’s an extra frisson of joy from knowing the principals.  I added the bit “But she does wear army boots.”

Mike made it through second interview.  I CAN’T DESCRIBE how tense I am about this.  If he doesn’t get it I’ll be reduced to a quivering mass of jelly.

I have not mentioned the newbie but I haz one.  He alphabetized a bunch of stuff for me yesterday and you’d think it was trivial, but it was huge.  Part of being promoted means telling people to do shit.  ‘svery hard.  Anyway, I won’t refer to him by name, but I will call him Luke Deskwalker, because his most strenuous accomplishment this week is making the x-wing fighter out of office supplies, as per reddit.  Some things about being a stupervisor are not at all hard – especially if you have a sense of humour.  Oh and he’s devving auto hotkey scripts but I told him to stay the fuck out of the live database.

Castle season closing show SUCKED A LIBYAN JAIL MOP.  fuck the writer; fuck the director.  The actors did what they could.  If the next season opener is this lame I’m giving up on the show.

  1. I concur with your comment on Castle. The humor and the body count have developed an inverse relationship.

  2. If it’s any consolation, the season finale for “The Republic of Doyle” had me sitting on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait for next season’s opener!! Also, Jim and I enjoyed all episodes of the Mentalist including last night’s finale.

  3. loved the Mentalist finale…. Red John got his. Unless of course he’s got a bulletproof vest on underneath that coat. Wouldn’t put it past him.

  4. Did you notice that the man who plays the Mentalist put his name on the finale script? If he really did write it, good for him; the script kicked ass.

  5. The Bones finale was great; the Big Bang Theory finale was AWESOMESAUCE. NCIS not so much. NCIS LA was purty good. I am really liking LL Cool J.

  6. Yeah, it’s hard to believe that Red John’s character has died. Maybe Jane shot a Red John imposter? I wouldn’t be surprised if Simon Baker did help co-wrote the final Episode of The Mentalist. He has to be pretty bright to pull off the part he plays (including the Armerican accent).

  7. Brad Whitford played Red John. I ADORED him in West Wing and Studio Sixty and was devastated seeing him as a monster, but just an EDGE away from his earlier performances. Maybe the message was the abyss between good and evil is a creek you can spit across. I also remembered that actors like playing guest shots against type.

Food for thought there. Whitford’s first movie (that I recognized him in) was Adventures in Babysitting, where he played a nasty…more food for thought.
