Lovely to visit the fOlks – finally handed off something almost like a final version of SOTW to mOm so she can print it out. Alex was really active and for the most part (brief morning snuggles o joy) pretty good tempered. He doesn’t possess his soul in patience when we’re in the ferry lineup though.
BEST MINI DONUTS ON PLANET AT SWARTZ BAY TERMINAL
Loading delay because somebody forgot to go back to their vehicle ↓ downvote.
Alex sure loves the Cars franchise. He’s shown here blurred because he basically never stops moving, and that’s actually someone else’s Paw Patrol toy.
Back in a couple of days
aqi is 19 now, down from 27. Numbers are higher elsewhere in the lower Mainland. I could feel it improving even sitting in the basement.
Another walk in Oakalla…. pics
finally went walking outside in Oakalla.
Then Paul and I ate pho, and came back to Geekhaus and I Instant Potted some corn (the hold warm is fantastic, and the corn was too) and then the two of us watched Deadpool I and now I’m trying to be arsed to do something useful like unload the dishwasher.
AQI is 157 and it’s supposed to be 29 degrees today. Walked at Lougheed Mall yesterday with Paul; the food court’s gone, the only resto food left in the joint is the non-grill DQ on the downstairs level. Fortunately Cobb’s was still there, picked up some high fibre bread.
working away on fanfic and trying to stay indoors – it’s not great out there — Seattle is a little worse — ferry terminal at Departure Bay is the smokiest place in BC right now. Lapwai Idaho is currently running at a 500 AQI.
just found out that one of my relatives almost killed one of my inlaws because they were wearing all black and riding a bicycle at night with no reflectors
Imagine tryne to explain all that at the funeral…. waaallll funny story
I just got my first fic rec on Twitter. I’ve been posting fics for two years now and once I start getting recs my stats will get better.
doc wants to see me about my blood test results I go in tomorrow for 1:30
Jeff gave me a lift and I walked back. Air quality index is 176 and rising – it might top out over 400 today.
Katie, Keith, Jeff and I ate at IHOP yesterday morning, it was absolutely lovely.
Paul has been very busy looking after Janice after eye surgery and he also ran the field last weekend so that’s why he’s dropped off the face of the earth.
Still haven’t had the bloodwork done, I will definitely do that today if the clinic is open. (nope has to be tomorrow)
Wrote 1500 words yesterday mostly a (hopefully) amusing series of text conversations between the protagonists.
Air quality is horrific. They’re saying it may climb past 400 tomorrow and I get itchy and doom laden and crusty at 60 so it’s gonna suck.
Spent a good chunk of yesterday helping Katie adult (buy tires and get them installed) and it was so GOOD to hang out with her.
The shot really took it out of me. I more or less crawled off to bed around supper time, without eating, I felt so crappy. Woke up at midnight feeling like grim death.
So, no blood work yesterday, I’ll try to get it together today.
Emailed about the job, things are fine but slower to progress than they’d like. It is all good.
It’s been two months since I last interviewed for a job. The position isn’t supposed to start until later this year, but I suspect I’m no longer in consideration for it, so I sent a quick email to my friend asking what’s happening. There’s no problem either way, people get busy, but clarification would improve my mood and allow me to start looking for other work.
It’s profoundly difficult to look for work when you’ve experienced so much rejection.
Getting more bloodwork today, including getting my thyroid checked again.
Ultrasound grossly normal.
I’m extremely itchy.
Had a shingles vaccination yesterday too, that was almost $250.
Off to the Doc this morning to get my test results and try to figure out what is going on.
Paul apparently dinged up his car which is probably why I haven’t heard from him so far this week. Heard from Mike on Tuesday but I couldn’t raise him when I called him back.
This thing in my mouth is not getting better. I haven’t heard back from the doc, and no wonder, there’s probably nothing to see in the ultrasound. But I’ve been cross checking symptoms, and on Dave’s advice I looked up shingles.
You can have mild symptoms for months before a rash and an outbreak. I DO NOT WANT SHINGLES IN MY FUCKING FACE. I am calling the doc today.
so I think about a novel where one of the Sixer kids wanders the globe killing billionaires and look what turns up in my feed – I already wrote the scene as her climbing onto a billionaire’s yacht to smother him with a pillow.
This will be an angry, angry novel.
