I can’t ever hear that stupid song without thinking that it would be much better if done by one of the Muppets.
“Near (clumps closer to the camera), Far (backs away from the camera)” you get the picture.
Plus, it’s kind of a stalker song. I’ve often thought there should be an entire CD of those (track one would be “I’ll be watching you”), but it would require a warning label for those who have PTSD from being stalked.
I’ve always thought that Police song was creepier’n’hell. There’s other songs that would work for that purpose. I wrote a song one time “Just try to write a love song that doesn’t say YOU’RE MINE. BELONG TO ME….. FOREVER….UNTIL THE END OF TIME….”
