Winter blahs

After the creative surge of November comes the dreaded deeps of midwinter, made somewhat better by there being more reflected light with all this snow.  But I have the blahs right down to my toes.  To quote a song I wrote a long time ago, “I feel like I’m swimming in glue”.

  1. A fantastically effective cure for the blahs exists – if only the blahs didn’t prevent one from using it. It is MAKING SOMETHING, and especially FINISHING SOMETHING. For me – something knitted. For you, something written. But the blahs are SO demotivating, demoralizing. Mine come ahead of the season, in November, and are now past. They depart with the winter solstice.
