Coughiness.

I mailed my “I am so annoyed with you, you great Canadian” letter to Mr. Peter Gordon MacKay and cc’d Bill Siksay, who’s only going to be my MP for another 4 weeks. I don’t think that Canadian troops belong on American soil either, by the way, not that there’s a snowball’s chance in hell the US will ask for them.  See previous post about sending off a letter.

It was lovely havng both the kids here.

I lost my bloodwork requisition.  I’ve now looked everyplace logical and I think – I mean it’s possible – that I threw the damned thing out while cleaning my apartment.  Annoyance and irritation.

and it’s 3:01 in the morning and I can’t sleep for coughing and I am officially out of cough syrup and won’t have any until after singing class tonight, the earliest I can get some.

  1. Too bad you don’t have a pharmacy right next door that’s open 24/7. Did I tell you my remedy? Given to me by a GP who is an environmental doctor. He was weaning me off the constant use of antibiotics for bronchitis caused by serious bouts of cold and/or allergies. He also gave me IVs twice a week that included 10,000 mg of Vit. C — that knocked the sh*t out of any cold!!

Boiled water with fresh lemon (squeezed), 1000 – 2000 mg crushed vitamin C (up to 7000 mg per day). You can also add Cayenne pepper and crushed ginger root. You drink it like you would a tea at home or at work — repeat until you have consumed 7000 mg of Vit. C.

  2. Yup, 30 grams of IV vitamin c (sodium ascorbate) will also knock pneumonia on its ass, although the docs say it works best on people under 30. I wish to hell I could find the reference that told me about that the first time – I first heard about that before there was a generally available internet.

The recipe you provide makes me giggle, as Chipper has provided something very similar to me in the past. Her recommendation was to slurp it down and go straight to bed.

  3. Yes, the IVs would have started in January 1991 when my CFS was first diagnosed and continued until around 2000. The at home preparation would also have started sometime in 1991. I drink my concoction at equal intervals throughout the day, kind of like Neo-citran BUT it doesn’t make me sleepy and it’s a natural remedy.
