Your aunt and I watched it together and we both cried.
What’s with us females?????? It’s as if we’re driven around by those sweettalking caregiver hormones one minute, and the atavistic “don’t touch my daughter or I’ll beat your head in” hormones the next. Grr.
It seems like these characteristics are common across many species. You should see my budgie Moms!! For humans, many thousands of years ago, the female would be home alone (probably in a cave) to nuture and protect the offspring while Dad went off with the other men on what could be prolonged hunting expeditions. So, I think we are pre-programmed to do these things, i.e. it’s in the DNA.
