Actually, it was a nightmare; I don’t feel strong enough to recount it. It was not a visitation dream; there was nothing positive about it. After the main part of the dream I drank colloidal silver in a bar and everybody wanted to know what I was having; the drink had a remarkable texture and would form a skin unless you gently shook it once in a while. I still feel disgusted and shaky about the dream, though; if this is what going back on a vitamin regimen does I may be in for a rough couple of nights.

Rumi and Dylan
I know it’s ludicrous, but I read Rumi, and I cry and cry and cry, and then I pick up the book and start reading again. He’s just the most amazing creature – a living breathing ecstatic poet, 800 years dead.
Enough of that. I have determined that Bob Dylan’s New Year’s Day is the next tune I will be writing down, in honour of his ‘detention’ in Jersey. Murphy, but I hope he writes a song about it.
Fi-na-leeeee!
All the Con Men I Have Known is finished!
Off to the library now and possibly a small-ish shop. When I come back I will practice my guitar and mandolin.
Cleaning and cooking and godlessness
Yesterday I ran the dishwasher, washed the kitchen rugs, policed up the cat litter around the downstairs tray, dejunked in the kitchen, rearranged some more boxes, paid some bills, and cooked something extremely yummy so that at whatever time Jeff shows up after his visit I will be able to feed him. It’s a really nice stir fry, with thinly sliced chicken breast, mushrooms, bean sprouts, carrots, broccoli, green and white onions, garlic, soy sauce and turmeric. Om Nom Nom.
I also started working on a song called “Stuff”, which is insane (me working on it, not the song). Must…. stop and get cracking on the real work, not making more for myself. Also had a long talk on the phone with mater, partly about the well nigh overwhelming anxiety of dealing with the rash of illness and debilitation of senior family members, and partly an interesting discussion about atheism…. you know, ‘that very present help in time of trouble’.
Yet strangely it feels like I did sod all yesterday. The kitchen looks great though. It won’t last…
Today I will make bread dough and write down some tunes…..
I had insomnia
Now I feel rather spooky and fragile.
Katie is coming over today regarding job hunt.
I finished “Redden the water”.
I uploaded a few more things onto the Portfolio portion of my site.
Jeff and I did a small shop; he made a Value Village run and we made a couple of stops at various computer stores.
Visit from Jenise
Jenise from church came by yesterday and I fed her dinner and she brought the china I got for Katie’s trousseau. Yeah, I know I am insane, but I’d never seen Royal Doulton with a platinum pattern before and Katie likes silver and dislikes gold. Jenise pronounced my split pea soup with ham good to eat. I am so happy she came by.
Then Keith came by and we watched True Blood. Woo hoo! It was a good one… the Eric centric episodes normally are.
Spot the error!!!
This really cheeses me off. The article says that the Pew Survey identifies under two percent each for Americans identifying as atheist or agnostic. But if you look at the survey the total percentage of atheist, agnostic and nothing in particular is over 16%, much more in line with my own anecdotal observation that about 20% of the population is unchurched and lovin’ it. This survey is the kind of thing that could cause theists to believe that atheists should shut up as they are less than three percent of the population.
I would LOVE to see a properly constructed survey for Canada.
Update to site
I have added almost 20 mp3s on the Portfolio portion of the site. Over the next few days I’ll be adding .pdfs of the song’s I’ve finished as well.
I simply did not believe it was possible that there could be an internet timewaster worse than Reddit

I have chatted to a Brit, a Korean school kid, a Swiss metalhead who just got back from Wacken, and about sixteen anonymous wankers. The Brit was by far the most entertaining. But the wankers just hang up so that’s okay. I am currently talking to a 15 year old Brazilian kid.
Jude Law and Ewen McGregor in bed. You’re welcome.
errands
Kira’s claws were so long that I could hear all 15 of them clicking on the floor. She put up with me trimming them with a good grace and went back to being cat footed – ie silent – afterwards. She was very happy to see me.
I ran errands, picking up a steak for myself for lunch and pork chomps for tomorrow’s dinner. I also got parsley for something resembling tabbouleh and a couple of other items from Joe’s Farm Market. Jeff requested salad for dinner.

Salt, sand and sunjuice (the day at Wreck)
Mike picked me up around 2:30 – wearing his kilt. Ten minutes later we were at Suzanne’s; she was waiting downstairs after I called her to come on down, and you should have seen her mile wide grin as she saw Mike’s ride pull up. They introduced themselves. We had a gorgeous, rather warm ride in Mike’s Mustang convertible. We spent about ten minutes gossiping about family members – neither of us being too pleased with the respective number two childer in our families, nuff said, and then dispensed with further whining for the rest of the day.
