“At least they didn’t leave them on a hillside.” It is my understanding that marriage in India occurs within a caste and everyone in a given caste has the same last name. So long as the baby girls married within the same caste (possibly by an arranged marriage) they would still carry on the family name. There should be a punishment for this type of callous behaviour!!!
