Katie turned me on to this….
It’s possible there’s nothing on there you like, but man, I’m liking it.
Katie turned me on to this….
It’s possible there’s nothing on there you like, but man, I’m liking it.
I think I’ve thrashed out two verses and now I’m looking under a bridge for a chorus, if you know what I mean….
Katie was here working on homework … I just put her on the bus to home.
Chipper says she has Gezillions of fireflies at Red Deer Lodge. Or is it Bazillions? Enquiring minds want to know. First no blackflies, now tons fireflies. Oh, and she’s 95% full for July and August. It’s shaping up to be a decent year.
I keep meaning to mention that I have the two WORST EARWORMS evar. An earworm, for those of you who may not know the technical name for this hideous disorder, is a song you CANNOT get out of your head. One is Mika’s Grace Kelly, and the other is Champion’s No Heaven. The two are seesawing through my mind like a toddler on meth.
But the new computer is sweet and it’s amazing how much faster you get where you’re going. It too came with a remote, which works great. Some of the software on it – like Garage Band and Comic Life – looks intriguing. It also looks like I can just plug my Midi keyboard into the computer without worrying about software. This is amazing.
I have already taken the liberty of creating an account for Keith.
I listened to the SFU Pipe band practice last night. I can’t tell you what it’s like to sit in a beautiful room and listen to the pipes (at a suitable distance, of course…) while messing about with a new computer.
I found a single lonely DVD in with my moving crap, and watched the first half of Hunt for Red October last night. Unpacked about half a dozen boxes last night and I swear half of it was landfill that I paid somebody to sling around. Ve Grow Too Soon Oldt und Too Late Schmart.
This is a band in England. Listening to a 90 year old guy sing “My Generation” is berloody awesome.
Big shout to Keith for pointing it out to me.
Here please. Yes the quality is not great.
Why, they even have mandolin lessons.
She came to grief in a hotel room
Like famous people do
The way the media carried on
You’d think she died for me and you
They say speak gently of the dead
Don’t bandy with her name
But her life was sure instructive
on the vagaries of fame
Chorus:
Slimfast and Methadone
Girl I’m in your debt
I got a great line for a chorus
and the story isn’t over yet.
Leave ’em while you’re looking good
Advice she took to heart
She was born to play the blonde bimbo
and she really nailed the part
She married her attorney but
I don’t think it turned out
The paternity, the autopsy
and the estate are all in doubt
Chorus
Slimfast and Methadone
was all you had
in your fridge
I still can’t believe it
It’s a perfect rhyme for bri–i-i-i-dge
Humans love their beauty
it’s a curse upon our race
the powerful are using it
to hide what’s really taking place
Zombies stalk the headlines
while all the peace talks stall
If celebrities don’t quit dying
We’ll never fix the world at all.
Chorus x 2.
I found out to my amusement that ScaryClown was at the concert last night. I didn’t see him. He didn’t see me.
Also, if I ever start trolling for a third husband, I could do a LOT worse than the line-up for a concert like that. There were an incredible number of yummy middle aged men there.
And Guy Clark opened with “LA Freeway”…..
The Guy Clark, Joe Ely, John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett concert was WONDERFUL. May I beg for them to sing more harmony next time. That’s ma real jones….Thanks to Lexi to underwriting the endeavour.
Much thanks to Nev for shouting beerskis afterwards.
It was wonderful to see Jackie.
Alex, may she abide in bliss, has procured a ticket for me for a concert tomorrow night with Joe Ely, John Hiatt, Guy Clark and Lyle Lovett. As far as I can tell it’s like the male singer-songwriter version of an on-stage slumber party. I am really looking forward to it.
Unca Dave will be helping Paul, and, as it turns out, Janice, work on the renovations. Janice is in town to drop Casey off after a visit to Seattle. Casey has recently been published in On Spec.
