This gave me a flash to my extreme youth, wherein the CBC at 1:00 in the afternoon, daily, said “The beginning of the long dash marks 1:00 (in whatever time zone.)” I recently chanced upon the fact that this still happens, after all there decades. Perhaps that’s the principle benefit of the CBC – it provides a sense of security…
