Food drink and bed assembly

After a danged slow start, I finally rearranged the furniture in my bedroom into its final configuration and assembled the bed which has supported so much reading, so much sleep, so much songwriting and so much transitory fun into shape.  I really tightened it down pretty hard in the reassembly – with any luck it’s going to stop its assortment of interesting noises.  Then I went to the dress rehearsal for the ticket taking.  I get to be lead hand for Saturday night as Peggy (the writer, not the doctor, and a former writing group colleague – wonderful wonderful prose stylist) won’t be there; I was a value add as I kept asking questions like what do we need for a float and what’s the dress code (I had, providentially given the general deshabille after the move, put aside an entirely black outfit).  Then home.  Too tired – jammed on the Luddite.  Okay, I just moved; I’m allowed to be bagged.  It’s pouring rain.

  1. Certainly you are allowed to be bagged. Hope you take Sunday off. No chance, it seems of that happening Saturday.

  2. Yes, moving certainly sucks. Especially, since the last move would have been emotionally exhausting. Some part of your subconcious carries the weight of that AND now what should be a good move seems exhausting. Somewhere in my post divorce years from Spence, during therapy I was amazed when I shucked some of the stuff I didn’t even know I was carrying, I felt a great relief and a corresponding whoosh of energy. I had no idea how much energy was tired up in maintaining the status quo. I would not have believed this had I not experienced it.

  3. This move was emotionally exhausting too, but not for any reasons that I can publicly post. However, the emotional, financial, nutritional and other advantages of living with my brother are continuing to reveal themselves, and I am content with the situation in a way I had not really expected. It just feels right. The stove and the dishwasher work great. No biscotti yet….

I could, OF COURSE start complaining about the landlord, but the internet is forever. As for Telus, I hope they all fkn win the lottery and it not enough to pay for the treatment on their boils. Grr. I don’t have a phone in my room! Telus won’t do anything about it without swacks of cash! Welcome to the future, which is NOT friendly.
