off to the clinic

I am grateful I live someplace where dealing with health problems is so trivial.

  1. Just so. The resources are available and usually in a timely way, we have the expectation that our health problem will be fixed, and usually it is. My metaphor for our wealth in this and other respects is the hundreds of litres of POTABLE water I sit in to ease my muscles after gardening. Elsewhere on the planet this is not possible, or expected, and the water used to drink is often NOT potable.
This brings to mind the planet Dune, and the fact that Loki was once taken for Frank Herbert in an SF book shop, and my mind is definitely wandering.

  2. Your ability to feign consciousness and a functioning memory never ceases to astound. Or perhaps you have learned to maintain the fire of your intellect by tossing extraneous memories into the blaze….or, perhaps, that memory got taped over the 95th time you watched Creature with the Atom Brain. The world will never know. Anyway, Nautilus3 says it happened in Bakka books in TO, so we’ll let the family historian have the defining say, since it scarcely matters. I just find it funny as hell!

Oh, and I’m thinking of Ernie Kovacs in Bell Book & Candle trying to figure out what the heck he’s doing where he is….. That’s the emotion I’m reading into Was I there?
